Saxon A700SE Integrated Amplifier

The entry-level A700 uses bi-polar Darlington output devices driven with an all-new front-end circuit derived from the more advanced MOSFET designs.

Extensive use of surface-mount technology and micro-processor controlled relay input-switching to wipe out input crosstalk eliminates the need for conventional wiring within the amplifier and maximises the signal-to-noise ratio. This allows a much lower level of background noise - volume does not now need to be wicked up for good detail retrieval.

Producing a healthy 60 Watts into 8 Ohms and over 100 Watts into more difficult 4 Ohm loads, the Saxon A700 demonstrates an impressive ability to drive even the most demanding of loudspeakers.

Double sets of speaker outputs are provided via the new EU safety 'BFA' plugs for bi-wire applications. The amplifier is fully equipped with remote control for input selection, volume and mute functions and has 6 line-level inputs with one pre-out socket for additional power amplifiers.

Saxon CD700 Mk 2 CD Player

Even though this CD player is considered entry-level within the Saxon gear, it is certainly not entry-level in terms of musical performance.  Great lengths have been taken in optimising the printed circuit board layout to gain the maximum performance out of the latest 96kHz-capable digital to analogue converters (DACs) from Burr-Brown.

The analogue filter is of proprietary design, minimising phase shift whilst giving excellent attenuation of radio frequency interference inherently generated by digital circuitry.

Saxon C700 Preamplifier

The all new Saxon C700 is probably the most flexible 6 channel remote controllable Pre-amp currently available. With it's unique user selectable, high or low gain, a six channel AV/MCA input and output facility with built in master control over all six channels simultaneously, plus a fully balanced CD input and main Left and Right outputs. This is a remarkable product.

Saxon P700SE/2 Stereo Power Amplifier

The Saxon P700 is a bi-polar 100Watt Stereo Power amplifier. Based on a custom made 300VA transformer with separate windings for each channel. It uses circuit topology 'borrowed' from it's bigger brother, the Talk Electronics Tornado 2.2 power amplifier.

It has user switchable balanced and un-balanced inputs and standard gold plated 4mm binding posts. Only one set of binding posts are available per channel as when bi-wiring the correct amplifier termination is for two plugs only, otherwise you lose half the benefit as the ground point is no longer common.

The performance offered is without compromise for the price, as with all Saxon products the price/performance ratio is the driving force during the design stages. The emphasis is on clean dynamics and natural instrument timbre, all painted in a clearly defined space.
